What You Get With The alrajhi bank Malaysia Visa Signature Credit Card-i
The alrajhi bank Malaysia Visa Signature Credit Card-i combines cashback on overseas spending with travel and lifestyle perks. You earn 10% cashback on overseas purchases, capped at RM80 a month, plus two complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits per calendar year and access to a 24/7 Visa concierge service.
Introduced in July 2026 as part of the bank’s first Visa credit card range, the card uses Tawarruq, a Shariah-compliant contract. You can manage your account through the MY alrajhi app.
10% Cashback On Overseas Spending
Earn 10% cashback on overseas purchases and 0.6% on other eligible local purchases. For this card, overseas spending means transactions charged in a currency other than ringgit. Cashback is calculated on the ringgit amount charged to your card.
| Spending | Cashback | Monthly Cap (RM) | What Counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overseas retail spending | 10% | 80 | Transactions charged in a currency other than ringgit |
| Other eligible local spending | 0.6% | Unlimited | All other eligible transactions, excluding overseas spending |
You’ll earn the full RM80 monthly cashback once your eligible overseas spending reaches RM800 in ringgit terms. Any overseas spending above that earns no further cashback that month, as the 0.6% rate applies only to eligible local purchases.
Overseas purchases also carry a 1.18% foreign currency mark-up on top of Visa’s exchange rate. For example, if a purchase converts to RM800 at Visa’s rate, the mark-up adds RM9.44, before any Visa transaction fee.
For eligible local purchases, there’s no minimum spend or monthly cashback cap. Every RM1,000 spent earns RM6 cashback. This includes dining, groceries and utilities, which earn 0.6% on this card compared with 5% on the Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, subject to its RM30 monthly cap.
How The Cashback Is Calculated And Credited
For each purchase, only the whole ringgit amount counts towards cashback. For example, a RM51.05 eligible local purchase earns 0.6% on RM51. That works out to RM0.306, rounded to RM0.31.
Your cashback is credited on your statement date. Transactions posted after that date earn cashback in the following month.
Any cashback earned through supplementary cards is paid into the principal cardholder’s account. All cards under that account share the RM80 monthly cap on overseas cashback, while eligible local cashback remains uncapped.
Spending That Doesn’t Earn Cashback
None of the following earns cashback, including the 10% and 0.6%:
- Petrol station purchases
- E-wallet reloads, such as Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost and ShopeePay
- Card payments made through FPX, JomPay, online banking, or mail and telephone order
- Government payments such as tax and fines, and payments to charities
- Quasi-cash, such as buying foreign currency, money orders, travellers’ cheques, gaming tokens or cryptocurrency
- Instalment plans and balance transfers
- Cash withdrawals, fees, charges and taxes
When You Can Lose Cashback
Cashback earned on a purchase is taken back if the transaction is refunded or reversed. Closing your card before your statement date also means losing any cashback you’ve accumulated. If your account is overdue, the bank may hold back your cashback.
The bank may also revise the programme, including reducing its benefits, with 21 days’ notice.
2x Priority Pass Airport Lounge Visits Per Year
Your card comes with two complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits each calendar year. You can use both for yourself on separate occasions or share them with a guest on one visit. Your guest must register and enter the lounge with you.
To enter, identify yourself as a Priority Pass member and show an accepted form of access: your Priority Pass card, digital membership card or eligible credit card.
Access depends on the lounge’s available space, opening hours and stay limits, so check these details on the Priority Pass website or app before travelling. Any applicable charges, including guest fees, will be billed to your credit card. You can find the full rules in the bank’s Priority Pass terms and conditions.
If you need halal food and drinks, check the options directly with the lounge. The bank states that it does not approve of non-halal food and drinks served there.
You’ll also have access to a 24/7 Visa concierge service for help with travel, dining and lifestyle requests.
What Tawarruq Means For Your Card
Your card uses Commodity Murabahah through a Tawarruq arrangement. Seven Islamic banks adopted this structure for their credit cards between October 2025 and January 2026. Our Tawarruq explainer covers what changed and why.
Under this arrangement, the bank buys commodities worth your credit limit, then sells them to you at an agreed-upon higher price, which you pay over time. The bank then sells the commodities to another buyer, and the proceeds fund your card’s credit limit.
These transactions happen in the background, so you can use the card for purchases as you would any other credit card.
Shariah Rules On Merchants And Late Payment Charges
The bank blocks card use at businesses it classifies as Shariah non-compliant. These include bars, liquor stores, casinos, betting and lottery outlets, escort services and massage parlours.
If you pay late, the bank may keep part of the late payment charge to cover its actual loss. Any amount above that is placed in a Gharamah (penalty) account and given to charity, with the bank’s Shariah Board overseeing the process.
Fees And Charges
The annual fee is RM500 for the principal card and RM300 for each supplementary card. Both fees are waived for the first year.
From the second year, you can continue to enjoy the waiver by using the card at least once in every calendar month over the previous 12 months. The RM25 card service tax still applies to each card at activation and each year thereafter.
Pay your previous statement balance in full by the due date to get a 20-day profit-free period on retail purchases. If you pay only the minimum amount, the profit rate on your retail purchases depends on your payment record:
| Payment Record | Profit Rate On Retail Purchases (% p.a.) |
|---|---|
| Minimum paid on time for 12 months in a row | 15% |
| Minimum paid on time for 10 months or more in a 12-month cycle | 17% |
| Anything else | 18% |
Cash withdrawals carry 18% p.a. from the day you withdraw, with no grace period. Other charges include:
- Late payment: 1% of the outstanding balance, minimum RM10 and maximum RM100, charged monthly while your minimum payment stays unpaid
- Minimum monthly payment: 5% of the statement balance or RM50, whichever is higher
- Foreign currency spending: 1.18% mark-up on top of Visa’s rate and any Visa transaction fee
- Cash withdrawal fee: RM1 locally and RM17 overseas
- Going over your limit: no charge, but you must repay the extra by the payment due date or when the bank asks

Who Should Get This Card
This card may suit you if you regularly spend overseas. RM800 in eligible overseas purchases earns the full RM80 monthly cashback, although the 1.18% foreign currency mark-up adds RM9.44 in costs before any Visa transaction fee.
The two complimentary lounge visits each year are useful for occasional trips, but bringing a guest uses both visits at once. To keep the annual fee waived after the first year, you’ll need to use the card every calendar month. The RM25 yearly card service tax still applies.
If you mainly spend in Malaysia, the 0.6% local cashback offers a modest return. The Visa Platinum Credit Card-i may suit you better, with 5% cashback on dining, groceries, online purchases and utilities, capped at RM30 a month. You can also compare other cashback credit cards or cards with free lounge access on RinggitPlus.
