How do I open the account?
Well you could always hit that apply now button on the screen to start your application. Of course, that is different from knowing the account mechanics. To open an account, you will need to be at least 18 years old and have a minimum deposit of RM2,000.
Depending on the amount you have in the account and the type of debit card you pick up the withdrawal limit varies. So, should you have any Citibank debit or ATM card, then the withdrawal limit is set at RM5,000 daily. However, if you are a Citigold cardmember then you have an increased limit of RM10,000.
What are the fees attached to the account?
There aren’t any fees for the opening of the account, neither is there a maintenance fee. If you decide to close the account for any reason, there is a closure fee of RM10. Also, there will be an issuance fee of RM8 for the debit card that matches your account.
The only other thing you will need to pay for is transactions online, such as interbank transfer or GIRO transfers. Other than this, there will be an RM4 service fee charged to your account for any withdrawals at a MEPS ATM. So to avoid this fee, just make withdrawals at a Citibank ATM.
