UNIRinggit Rewards Programme
UNIRinggit (UNIRM) is UOB's proprietary rewards currency. Understanding how to earn, redeem, and maximize UNIRinggit points helps extract full value from UOB rewards cards.
How You Earn UNIRinggit Points
Earning rates vary significantly by card:
High earners:
- Visa Infinite: 10x overseas, 5x local
- PRVI Miles: 5x travel categories, 1x other
Standard earners:
- Most UOB cards: 1x point per RM1 retail spending
Excluded transactions:
- Government payments, JomPay, FPX transactions
- Balance transfers, cash advances
- Quick cash transactions
- Fees and charges
Points post to your account within 5-7 working days after transaction settlement. Check your balance through the UOB TMRW app or online banking.
Points Expiry
UNIRinggit points expire 3 years from the month they're awarded. Unlike some loyalty programmes that extend expiry with activity, UNIRinggit follows a rolling 3-year expiry regardless of ongoing card usage.
Example: Points earned in February 2026 expire in February 2029, regardless of whether you earn new points in the meantime.
Redemption Options
1. Air Miles Conversion
Convert UNIRinggit points to four airline programmes:
- Malaysia Airlines Enrich Miles
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles
- AirAsia Points
- Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific)
Conversion rates vary by programme and may change periodically. Current rates are typically:
- Enrich Miles: Check current conversion ratio
- KrisFlyer Miles: Check current conversion ratio
- AirAsia Points: Check current conversion ratio
- Asia Miles: Check current conversion ratio
Conversions are one-way and irreversible. Once you convert UNIRinggit to airline miles, you cannot convert back.
2. Rewards Catalogue
UOB's UNIRinggit Rewards Catalogue offers diverse redemption options through the UOB TMRW app. The catalogue updates regularly with new items and seasonal offers.
Redemption options:
- Physical products: Electronics, home appliances, lifestyle items (delivered within 14 working days)
- Digital vouchers: AEON, Parkson, major retailers (delivered within 7 working days via email)
- Physical vouchers: Shopping and dining vouchers delivered by mail
- Air miles: Convert to Enrich, KrisFlyer, AirAsia, Asia Miles (posted within 5 working days)
- Annual fee offset: Use points to pay your card's annual fee
- Cashback credit: Convert points to statement credit (added December 2025, posted next statement)
How to redeem: Open UOB TMRW app → Navigate to "Rewards+" → Tap "Redeem UNIRinggit" → Browse catalogue → Select item → Choose card → Enter delivery address → Confirm and swipe to complete.
Pay with the UNIRinggit feature:
Offset past retail purchases made with your UOB card within 60 days of the transaction date. Minimum RM50 per transaction, up to 20 transactions per redemption. Partial or full redemption available. Excluded: instalments, cash advances, balance transfers.
Example: Spend RM500 at a restaurant using your UOB card. Within 60 days, redeem this transaction using UNIRinggit to offset the full amount or any portion.
Redemption rates (updated 15 January 2025):
Digital vouchers require fewer points than physical equivalents, and online redemption offers better rates than the contact centre:
- AEON RM100 digital voucher: 92,000 UNIRinggit (online)
- AEON RM100 physical voucher: 115,000 UNIRinggit (contact centre)
Check current rates in the UOB TMRW app before redeeming—rates vary by item.
Important limitations:
- All redemptions final (no changes, cancellations, or refunds)
- Catalogue inventory subject to availability
- Cashback credits apply to the outstanding balance, but don't offset the minimum payment due; you must still pay the minimum on time
- Points expire 3 years from the earning month, regardless of redemption activity
3. Statement Credit
Some cards allow converting points to statement credit to offset the card balance. Conversion rate is typically less favorable than air miles redemption.

Conversion rates vary by programme and change periodically; check current rates before converting. Conversions are one-way and irreversible.
9. How can I redeem my UOB UNIRinggit points, and what is the rewards catalogue like?
Redeem UNIRinggit through the UOB TMRW app under "Rewards+". The catalogue includes physical products (electronics, appliances, lifestyle items), digital and physical vouchers from major retailers like AEON and Parkson, air miles conversion to four airlines, annual fee offset, and cashback credits. You can also use "Pay with UNIRinggit" to offset past purchases within 60 days (minimum RM50 per transaction).
Processing takes 5 working days for air miles, 7 days for digital vouchers, and 14 days for physical items. Redemption rates increased on 15 January 2025; digital vouchers require fewer points than physical ones. For example, an AEON RM100 digital voucher needs 92,000 points online versus 115,000 points via the contact centre. All redemptions are final and cannot be cancelled. See the UNIRinggit Rewards Programme section above for complete details on earning, redeeming, and maximizing point value.
10. How much does UOB charge for cash advances?
UOB charges 0.37% per cash advance transaction (effective 1 January 2026), plus prevailing Service Tax.
