Bursa Malaysia has once again been named the Best Stock Exchange For Islamic Listings in the latest Islamic Finance News (IFN) Service Providers Awards 2022, which was conducted by Islamic finance news and solutions provider IFN.

This win marks the fifth consecutive time that the local stock exchange regulator has been awarded the title, since the Best Stock Exchange For Islamic Listings category was first introduced in the IFN Service Providers Awards back in 2018. It was established in a bid to recognise the most outstanding stock exchange for the listing of shariah-compliant securities in an enabling and conducive ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the IFN Service Providers Awards 2022 itself is the award’s 17th edition, providing recognition for the nine most outstanding service providers in the global Islamic finance industry. Aside from Bursa Malaysia, other award winners include Amanie Advisors (Best Shariah Advisory Firm), Moody’s Investors Service (Best Islamic Rating Agency), and S&P Dow Jones Indices (Best Islamic Index Provider). Winners were selected and voted by their peers.

“This has been a record year for the poll, with a 70% increase in voter participation compared with 2021,” IFN said in a statement, adding that the number of votes cast was at a record high. Specifically, over 8,800 votes were cast in total – from Islamic finance industry players, investors, and corporations across the world.
