Lazada Malaysia is further making it easier for shoppers to get their items with a new delivery option called Lazada Collection Point, which allows customers to select a preferred location to pick up their packages at their convenience.
Collection Points delivery option is currently only available in the Klang Valley, and only made its debut earlier this week during the Lazada 7th Birthday Sale. The e-commerce giant did mention that this service will be expanded throughout the country in the future. CEO of Lazada e-logistics, Petra Olivier, said “with more Malaysians turning to e-commerce for their lifestyle needs, Lazada strives to differentiate itself through advances in logistics and technology to create an ever-evolving, continuously improved shopping journey.”
In concept, Lazada Collection Point is similar to Amazon Locker in the US, which lists locations such as department malls, 24-hour convenience stores, and even petrol stations. Having a separate pick up point is great for those who do not have anyone at home to pick up the package, and do not wish to ship to their office address.
For now, Lazada Collection Point is quite limited both in eligible items as well as pickup locations. Customers will be able to see the Collection Point banner appearing on the checkout screen if all their items are eligible for the option. All available locations close to your shipping address will appear for selection. Once your package arrives at the Collection Point station, customers will be notified through e-mail, SMS, and the Lazada app, along with instructions on how to collect your packages.
To collect a package, customers only need to enter the OTP (One Time Password) that is given when the package is delivered to the Collection Point. Customers must collect all packages within three days upon delivery – if not, they will be returned to the seller and a refund will be processed.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Lazada is offering a self-pickup option. In 2016, Lazada partnered with local company Boxit, which set up lockers for self-collection at 7-Eleven outlets in Malaysia. It isn’t immediately clear if Boxit is still operating, however.
Nevertheless, Lazada shoppers will no longer have to worry about being present for deliveries, as they can now collect parcels at their own convenience. For more information, head over to Lazada Malaysia.
