KFC Malaysia Launches Original Moments NFTs
Author Avatar

KFC Malaysia has launched a total of 11 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that illustrate classic and nostalgic KFC moments, which can be obtained via either bidding or through a contest on Instagram. The collection is said to be a “nod to Colonel’s 11 secret herbs and spices”.

Made by three local artists, the collection of NFTs consists of four Together Editions artwork by Wilson Ng, four Moving Fried Chicken artwork by Book of Lai, and three Generations artwork by Arif Rafhan. Of these 11 NFTs, you can bid for eight of them – which is already ongoing on OpenSea – while the remaining three (one from each series) will be up for grabs through an Instagram contest taking place between today (12 May, at 12pm) to 2 June.

For those of you who wish to try your hand at bidding, you’ll need to have a MetaMask wallet that is linked to OpenSea. The bidding for each NFT starts at 0.08 ETH (approximately RM719 at the time of writing this article). Note that you’ll have until 16 May (by midnight) to bid for any of these NFTs.

Meanwhile, to win any of the three remaining NFTs, you’ll need to join a contest on KFC’s Instagram account by leaving a comment in a specified contest post. Remember to also include the hashtags #OriMomentKFC and #ItsFingerLickinGood, and tag any of the three NFT artists involved. KFC will then select three winners, who will then be contacted via Instagram direct messaging (DM).

Aside from owning the unique artwork, holders of these NFTs will also be entitled to a “delicious IRL perk”, namely up to 12 KFC vouchers worth RM20 each. These vouchers can be used for their orders between 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023, with a minimum order value of RM20. Promo codes to these vouchers will be sent to the NFT holders via their MetaMask wallet, which they can then use for orders made via the KFC website or app.
