MyEG is introducing a new online food service platform, Nak Makan, that will sell freshly cooked meals and food products online. The Nak Makan platform will be hosting a Ramadan e-Bazaar as an alternative solution to physical bazaars during the ongoing movement control order (MCO) and Covid-19 pandemic.
Vendors in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Selangor can sign up and list their bazaar food on the Nak Makan website. The vendors will operate from their own premises as usual while Nak Makan’s delivery partner, MrSpeedy, will collect and deliver the food to the customers.
“With the recent turn of events, online shopping is now becoming the new norm but there still exists a digital divide for vendors who do not know how to get online,” said MyEG. “For these small, independent vendors, Nak Makan will facilitate their move into the digital space by holding their hand every step of the way, and it is only a matter of time before they embrace this new way of doing business.”
Nak Makan will be quite similar to Grab’s e-Bazar Ramadan initiative in partnership with the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur state governments, which was announced last week.
Besides the e-Bazaar, MyEG is also planning two more e-commerce initiatives for the month of Ramadan – e-Sahur, for pre-dawn meal food deliveries, and e-Raya, an online shopping platform specifically for Ramadan wares.
Interested vendors can now register for Nak Makan by filling up an online form on the official website.
