ShopeePay has introduced Tap Secure, a new security feature aimed at strengthening the protection of user transactions. Beginning today, all ShopeePay app users will have access to Tap Secure, which ensures that every transaction is personally approved by the account holder before it is completed.

With Tap Secure activated, users will receive real-time notifications whenever a transaction is initiated. They will then have the option to approve or reject the transaction, providing greater control over payments made using their ShopeePay accounts. This mechanism is designed to prevent unauthorised access and mitigate the risk of fraud.

To activate Tap Secure, users must open the ShopeePay app, navigate to the “Me” page, and select “Link Device” to connect their account to their current device. Following the completion of a personal verification process, the account will be securely linked. Users are advised to enable Push Notifications for the ShopeePay app to ensure they receive alerts for all transaction activities.

Tap Secure is available exclusively through the standalone ShopeePay app, which can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play. It is not available through the main Shopee shopping app. 

According to ShopeePay’s support resources, linking a device through Tap Secure improves security by requiring transaction verification, allowing users to promptly identify and block any suspicious activity. Users are also encouraged to maintain updated contact information within the app settings to support the effective delivery of security notifications.
