AJAR Society (Pertubuhan Pendidikan Dan Kecemerlangan Anak-Anak Orang Asli), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that provides educational support to Orang Asli children, has launched an online learning initiative for Orang Asli children in Kampung Asli Serendah, Selangor. The initiative was made possible with the support from various partners, including MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn Bhd, Sambong future powered by Smart Rental Sdn Bhd, and YTL Foundation’s KelasKita.
The initiative aims to provide 50 children at Kampung Asli Serendah with access to the internet and online tuition classes to complement their education. Through this initiative, the children now have the opportunity to complete and excel in their studies.
Each partner for the AJAR initiative provided support in their areas of expertise. MEASAT installed a CONNECTme NOW WiFi router at the kampung mini library, providing reliable internet access via satellite services. Sambong future donated 10 laptops, and are providing limited annual sponsorship of data plans for the 50 children currently enrolled in the program. YTL Foundation’s KelasKita is offering online tuition in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, and Science, providing the children with a comprehensive education. Lastly, AJAR also has two teachers to teach English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mathematics facilitated by online learning.

To celebrate the launch of this initiative, AJAR Society hosted a kenduri at the community mini library on 8 September 2024. The event was attended by representatives from the partnering organisations, Ketua Kampung, community members, and the children who will benefit from the program. The kenduri was an opportunity to express gratitude for the support received and to foster excitement for the new initiative.
This initiative is one of many organised by AJAR Society and its partners. For more information on how to volunteer or support its programmes, visit the AJAR Society website here, or follow its Facebook and Instagram pages for updates.
