Who can apply for this debit card?

Anyone can apply for Bank Islam The Red Warriors Visa Debit Card-i, provided you have reached 18 years of age. Minor aged between 13 to 17 can also apply for The Red Warriors debit card-i, with the consent of parents or legal guardians.

You are required to open and maintain a savings, current or Al-Awfar account with Bank Islam, if you don’t have any yet.

What are the fees and charges?

Once you have opened a savings, current or Al-Awfar account with Bank Islam, The Red Warriors Visa Debit Card-i will be issued to you, at a small charge of RM12.

From the second year onward, you need to pay an annual fee of RM15.90 to enjoy an unlimited cash withdrawal at ATM machines all year round. If you’re The Red Warriors Visa debit card is lost, stolen or tempered with, you need to replace it at RM12 per replacement.

How can I use this Islamic debit card?

Since it is a Shariah compliant debit card, you are only authorized to perform transactions of goods and services which are Halal in nature. Bank Islam has the rights to terminate any non-Halal payment.

The Red Warriors Debit Card-i can be use at over thousands of retail merchants in Malaysia and worldwide, you just have to spot the Visa PLUS logo upon payment.

How many times can I withdraw cash per day?

There is no limit as to how many times you’d like to dispense your money at the ATM machines, nevertheless the maximum amount you can withdraw is capped at RM5,000. For minor cardholders, the maximum cash withdrawal amount is RM1,000.

Can I use this Islamic debit card to pay for my purchases?

Absolutely. Your debit card can be used to pay for your purchases at the store and online. It works similar to cash and credit card. All debit cards in Malaysia are PIN-enabled card, which gives you total security of your payment. Just don’t tell anyone your 6-digit PIN numbers.

Where to report for stolen or lost debit card?

Identity theft can attack random people. Should you fell victim, you need to report any loss, stolen, broken or unauthorized transaction of your debit card to Bank Islam Contact Center at 03 26900 900.

What is pre-authorization transaction?

Pre-authorization is simply an approval for transaction. You need to maintain a sufficient balance in your bank account for this purpose. For any petrol transactions at the terminal, a pre-authorization amount of RM200 will be debited from your savings account.
