Frequently Asked Questions about MBSB Conventional Fixed Deposit

Things you might want to know

What is this MBSB Conventional Fixed Deposit all about?

The MBSB Conventional Fixed Deposit offers freedom to choose how frequently you collect your interest payout - cash out every month, quarter, or in a lump sum at maturity.

Trade off for the flexible payment is reflected in the variable interest rate - that is to say you'll earn more money if you leave all your interest in until the term deposit matures. And you'll have to commit to a term greater than six months if you want to enjoy the regular interest payments.

Can I withdraw cash from my fixed deposit and still earn interest?

Yes, it is your money after all! But be warned, you cannot recover any interest if you withdraw within three months of opening your FD account.

Partial withdrawal is NOT allowed.

How do I open this fixed deposit with MBSB?

All you need is your MyKad and some cash (or a cheque) to open your account.

Is this MBSB Conventional Fixed Deposit secured by PIDM?

No. This MBSB Conventional Fixed Deposit is NOT covered by PIDM.
