As it is a passbook-based savings account, senior basic savings acCount-i holders can conduct a total of sixteen (16) over-the-counter ( OTC) visits a month with no annual fees and charges imposed.

How much do I need to deposit to open an account?

With the aim to provide senior citizens banking services at minimal costs - only a minimum initial deposit of RM20 is required to open a Senior Basic Savings Account-i with CIMB Islamic.

Am I eligible for this savings account?

For an individual savings account, you will have to be above the age of 55 years old and a Malaysian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Malaysia.

If you would like to open a Joint Account, you can do so provided that one of you is aged 55 years old and above.

Don't forget to bring along your identification card (NRIC) or passport upon application at the bank.

Are there any other fees and charges?

In the event you lost your passbook, there will be a charge of RM20 for a replacement. The charge is inclusive of Stamp Duty on Letter of Indemnity.
