Maybank Offers 0% Payment Processing Fees With CardUp
Author Avatar

Maybank has entered into a partnership with digital payment platform CardUp to offer Malaysian credit cardholders 0% processing fees for transactions typically requiring cash or bank transfers. The collaboration, which runs until June 30, 2026, targets payments such as rent, insurance premiums, and business invoices that traditionally don’t accept credit cards.

Under the agreement, Maybank Visa and Mastercard holders gain access to CardUp’s payment processing service at discounted rates. The deal includes introductory zero-fee offers for new users and ongoing reduced rates for subsequent transactions across both personal and business payment categories.

Personal Payment Options

The CardUp platform accepts various personal expenses that typically don’t allow credit card payments, including rent, mortgage payments, insurance premiums, tuition fees, and car loans.

New personal account users can process their first payment up to RM6,000 without fees by entering the promo code MAYBANKFREE during checkout. Payments exceeding RM6,000 incur the standard 2.25% fee on amounts above this threshold. This zero-fee offer applies once per new user.

Following the introductory offer, Maybank cardholders receive ongoing preferential rates. Subsequent personal payments made with Maybank cards carry a 1.4% processing fee when using promo code MAYBANK14.

Business Account Benefits

Business owners can use the service to manage working capital more effectively. The platform processes supplier invoices, payroll, rent, and tax payments, extending payment terms up to 59 days without interest charges on the credit card balance.

First-time business users avoid processing fees on their initial payment up to RM15,000 by applying promo code MAYBIZFREE. Amounts exceeding RM15,000 are subject to the standard 2.25% fee. Each company can claim this offer once.

Ongoing business payments through Maybank cards qualify for a 1.2% processing rate using promo code MAYBIZ12.

Getting Started

Eligibility requires a Maybank Visa or Mastercard credit card and a CardUp account. The promotion runs from September 19, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

Users enter the relevant promo code during the “Schedule payment” step on CardUp’s platform. The discounted fee appears on the payment review screen before transaction confirmation.

What You Need to Know

Several conditions apply to this partnership. Only Malaysian-issued Maybank Visa and Mastercard credit cards qualify for these rates. Charge cards are excluded from the promotion.

The program ends at 6:00 PM on June 30, 2026. All payments must have due dates on or before July 3, 2026. Users must schedule payments at least three business days before their due dates to ensure proper processing.

These promotional rates cannot be combined with other offers or discounts. Standard CardUp terms and conditions apply to all transactions processed through the platform. For more information, For more details on this promotion and other card benefits, you can visit the official Maybank website.
