The Muslim community is set to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri in approximately another two weeks, and that means many will be travelling back to their hometowns for family reunions! Without doubt, the joyous occasion will also involve the giving and receiving of duit raya – much to the delight of the young ones.
If you are one of those partaking in this raya tradition and are in need of brand-new notes for your green packets, several banks are now providing fresh notes to customers via their automated teller machines (ATMs). These banks include:
Affin Bank customers will be able to obtain both RM10 and RM50 fresh notes at selected ATMs from 17 to 22 April 2023, as indicated in the list here. The bank has also clarified that the withdrawal limit for each customer per day is set at RM5,000, subject to your card’s withdrawal limit and the availability of the notes in the ATM.
AmBank, meanwhile, is providing fresh RM10 notes for withdrawal at selected ATMs nationwide. While AmBank did not mention whether there are any daily withdrawal limits per customer, your withdrawals will likely be determined by your card’s withdrawal limit and the availability of notes in the machines.
CIMB Bank, too, will be dispensing new RM10 and RM50 notes for the occasion at the ATMs of selected branches from today until 23 April 2023. Do be aware that most of the ATMs will be providing you with RM10 notes; if you’re looking specifically for RM50 notes, you will need to visit the CIMB ATM at KLCC or Menara CIMB.
As you can expect, your withdrawals will also be determined by your card’s withdrawal limit and the availability of notes in the machines.
In addition to the banks above, Maybank also said that its customers can withdraw fresh RM10 and RM50 notes at selected ATMs nationwide from today until 24 April 2023. As you can see from this list, some ATMs will only dispense either RM10 or RM50 new notes, while others will give you both. As such, it may be a good idea to double-check Maybank’s list of ATMs before heading over if you’re looking for a specific denomination!
If you forget to do so, however, don’t worry! Maybank said that it will also label the ATMs that can dispense new RM10 and RM50 notes for your convenience.

For those who would like to go paperless this Raya, you can also consider sending e-duit raya to your families and relatives! Many banks – such as Maybank, Hong Leong Bank, and HSBC Bank – are also actively promoting the use of digital green packets as an environment-friendly option (although we do also understand the allure of getting actual green packets!). You can use e-wallets to do so, too, if you prefer!
Whichever method you choose, it is ultimately the intention behind the act of giving duit raya itself – to spread joy and offer blessings during this happy occasion – that is most important. With that, we at RinggitPlus would like to wish you Selamat Hari Raya in advance!
