Allianz Life Launches PreciousCover, BabyCover For Expectant Mothers And Newborns

Allianz Life has introduced two new specially designed plans, PreciousCover and BabyCover, which provide expectant mothers and newborns a range of pre- and post-natal coverage together with child coverage.

PreciousCover offers comprehensive coverage to mothers during and after pregnancy, while BabyCover protects against essential child critical illnesses and child development disorders. The two plans are optional riders for Allianz PowerLink, an investment-linked life protection plan.

The key features of PreciousCover include mental health coverage for mothers diagnosed with major depressive disorders (MDD) or generalised anxiety disorders (GAD), no hospitalisation needed on phototherapy treatment for neonatal jaundice, hospitalisation benefit for mother’s prenatal and postnatal conditions, and compassionate care when the child is hospitalised in the ICU/HDU/NICU.

As for BabyCover, the plan offers a child development disorder benefit upon diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as a child illness benefit. Both plans cover pregnancies from assisted reproduction techniques and the value-added service of the Allianz Careline for immediate medical advice.

“The plans not only offer outstanding coverage but come with unique elements to take care of the mother and child end-to-end and to ensure a pregnancy with the least amount of worries,” said Allianz Life CEO Joseph Gross. “With PreciousCover and BabyCover, we put a lot of effort into understanding their challenges and tailored products that were very specific to their needs.”

It was noted that the rates of stillbirth and maternal deaths rose by around a third during the Covid-19 pandemic, with pregnancy outcomes getting worse overall for both babies and mothers worldwide. “The company needed to do this as pregnant women who contracted COVID-19 were found to have an increased risk of severe pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia,” said Gross.

You can find out more about PreciousCover and BabyCover on the Allianz website.
