ShopeePay And Zurich Launch Shariah-Compliant Travel Takaful For Malaysian Travellers
Author Avatar

ShopeePay has partnered with Zurich General Takaful to introduce Zurich Travel Takaful, a Shariah-compliant travel protection plan now available via the ShopeePay and Shopee apps.

Catering to a growing demand for ethical financial products, Zurich Travel Takaful provides coverage for both domestic and international trips, starting from RM3 per day locally and RM15.99 for overseas travel. The plan offers flexibility with both single-trip and annual coverage options.

Users are protected with up to RM300,000 in medical and personal accident benefits, along with compensation for travel cancellations, delays, curtailments, baggage issues, personal effects, travel documents, and double indemnity. Travellers also gain access to Zurich’s 24-hour Travel Assistance hotline for support throughout their journey.

To mark the launch, ShopeePay is offering promotional discounts, including 5% off for group bookings of two to five people, 10% off for groups of six to ten, and 15% off VIP plan upgrades for both single and annual policies.

Subscribing takes less than three minutes through the ShopeePay or Shopee app. Users can simply tap the “Insurance” tab, select the travel section, choose a plan, confirm their details, and proceed to checkout.

For added flexibility, SPayLater, a Shariah-compliant credit solution, allows users to split their takaful contributions into monthly instalments, ranging from three to twelve months.
