Takaful Ikhlas General Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of reinsurer MNRB Holdings, has officially announced a collaboration with Tan Chong Motor Holdings to offer motor takaful products and services to the customers of the automotive company’s brands. These include Nissan, Renault, Infiniti, and JMC.

In a statement, the president and chief executive officer of Takaful Ikhlas, Datuk Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin said that the insurer will offer comprehensive motor takaful protection with value-added propositions to Tan Chong Motor customers via this partnership. Among other benefits, they will be able to tap into the Ikhlas Waqf and Endowment (IWE) benefit, and a fast and easy claims process.

Takaful Ikhlas’ products and services will be distributed via Edaran Tan Chong Motor’s franchises and dealers nationwide, as well as featured in Tan Chong’s GoInsuran digital platform.

“We are pleased to be part of this strategic partnership with one of the nation’s prominent motor companies, which we believe will allow us to expand our reach in the motor industry,” said Datuk Rudy, adding that more Malaysians now recognise Takaful Ikhlas’ products – as indicated by the 11.7% growth in gross written contribution recorded during the first nine months of 2021 (RM353.2 million), as compared to the same period in the previous year (RM316.1 million).

“This demonstrates that Malaysians are now more aware of our product offerings, and thus we are confident that this partnership will enable us to penetrate to a wider market segment and contribute to boosting our numbers in the years to come,” Datuk Rudy stated.

Meanwhile, the insurance business stream head of Tan Chong, Joshua Yong shared that the company is confident that Takaful Ikhlas will be able to offer value-for-money products and services to its growing segment of customers. This is especially true for those who are seeking shariah-compliant motor insurance products. “We have the same objective under this partnership: to ensure customers’ satisfaction when it comes to product offerings and services,” he further said.

To note, this partnership between Takaful Ikhlas and Tan Chong Motor has actually commenced earlier this year, since 5 January 2022.
