Ministry of Finance Unveils New Logo For Belanjawan 2021

The Ministry of Finance has announced the launch of a new official logo for the upcoming Budget 2021, together with a detailed description of the meaning behind the new design.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the logo’s design combines three different elements: the colours of the logo, the design, and the font. An in-depth explanation of the colour, patterns, and the various aspects of the typeface can be found on the Belanjawan 2021 website.

The purple tone of the logo represents shared prosperity in the efforts of the government to improve the well-being of the people and the development of the nation’s economy. The Noto Sans font was chosen due to its modern, simple, and professional outlook. As for the patterns, the national flag has been positioned to symbolise a view of economic recovery that is optimistic and resilient. Meanwhile, the Malaysian batik motif is symbolic of unity and nationalism, while giving support to the industry, trade, and local talent.

“Belanjawan 2021 has three main objectives with the aim of protecting, recovering, and ensuring the well-being of the citizens, the continuity of business, and the endurance of the economy,” the ministry added in the statement. “The Budget will be presented by the Minister of Finance on 6 November 2020.”
