Motorists travelling on the highways will be able to enjoy an exemption on toll fees on 11 and 12 November 2023 (Saturday and Sunday), in conjunction with the upcoming Deepavali celebration. The toll waiver will be applicable to all classes of vehicles and at all toll plazas, with the exception of two tolls in Johor, namely the Plaza Toll Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Plaza Tol Tanjung Kupang.

“The Ministry of Works in meetings with concession companies agreed to implement toll-free travel from 12.01am on 11 November 2023 to 11.59pm on 12 November 2023. This initiative is to enhance the festive spirit of Malaysians, especially those of the Hindu faith, who will be celebrating Deepavali,” said the Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Datuk Seri Alexander also explained that the two days were selected to prevent excessive traffic congestions when people start travelling back to their hometowns and return. It is predicted that 11.8 million vehicles are set to travel along the highways over the weekend.

“It is hoped that highway users will take advantage of this toll waiver to better plan their journeys. They are advised to abide by the issued travel time advisory,” Datuk Seri Alexander further noted.
