The government will offer three months of free access to leading AI software for Malaysians aged 18 to 30 who complete AI courses on the Rakyat Digital platform, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

He made the announcement at the launch of AI Malaysia Berhad, a new national AI body under the Ministry of Digital. The offer is part of the AI Untuk Rakyat (AI for the People) programme, aimed at accelerating AI literacy among young people.

Courses Cover AI Safety To Cloud Computing

You’ll need to complete course modules covering AI Safety, Cyber SAFE, Agentic AI, Generative AI, and Cloud Untuk Rakyat (Cloud for the People) before gaining access to the free AI software. Anwar said the requirement ensures participants understand how to use AI tools effectively and responsibly.

Programme Opens On Merdeka Day

The programme, developed by the Ministry of Digital, will open for registration on 31 August 2026 and is expected to benefit 100,000 young people. Only participants who complete the required courses will receive the free AI software subscription.

To participate, you can register at rakyatdigital.gov.my using an email address or Google sign-in. If you have an account on the platform, you won’t need to sign up again.

The government has not yet specified which AI software providers will be included in the free three-month subscription.
