MyFintech Week 2025 To Explore Future of Finance, Technology, and Policy

MyFintech Week (MyFW) returns for its third and most anticipated edition from 4 to 7 August 2025. This year’s event arrives at a key moment as Malaysia takes over the ASEAN Chairmanship, highlighting the country’s commitment to driving collaboration and innovation in the regional fintech space.

A National Effort to Shape the Future of Finance

MyFW 2025 is co-organised by several leading public and private sector institutions, including Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB), the Fintech Association of Malaysia (FAOM), and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

Together, they will host an extensive programme built around the theme ‘Ideate, Innovate, Co-create: Shaping the Future of Finance’. The event will explore how technology, regulation, and public needs are evolving to shape the financial systems of tomorrow.

A Platform for Knowledge, Collaboration and Innovation

MyFW 2025 offers a wide range of activities, including masterclasses, hackathons, and policy dialogues. The aim is to bring together financial leaders, regulators, and technology innovators to discuss key challenges and identify practical solutions for financial transformation.

Participants can expect real-time insights from a distinguished lineup of regional and global leaders. These include Dato’ Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia; Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi, Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia; Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; and Chia Der Jiun, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. 

Also scheduled to speak are Dr Yanis Varoufakis, Former Minister of Finance of Greece; Peng Yang, Chief Executive Officer of Ant International; YM Raja Datin Paduka Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of AEON Bank; and Tan Sri Andrew Sheng, Chairman of the George Town Institute of Open and Advanced Studies.

Key Themes Driving Financial Transformation

Finance for the Future

This theme explores how technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and open finance are changing how financial services work. It will also look at efforts to build secure digital asset ecosystems, with a focus on regulatory alignment to encourage responsible innovation and trust.

Finance for Change

This track highlights the expansion of Islamic finance and social finance as tools to deliver broader economic and social benefits. Sessions will cover how digital platforms are increasing access to climate finance and nature-based solutions, while promoting financial literacy and inclusive tools for underserved communities.

Finance for a Resilient Ecosystem

This section will focus on building a strong foundation for the fintech sector. Topics include cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and the development of a digitally skilled workforce. The agenda will emphasise the need for collaboration between industries and regulators to maintain stability and confidence in the financial system.

A Strategic Platform for National and Regional Progress

MyFintech Week 2025 is positioned as a central platform for promoting policy alignment and supporting nationwide fintech development. The event will drive cross-sector cooperation and support initiatives that encourage responsible innovation, financial inclusion, and ecosystem resilience.

By empowering both new fintech entrants and established financial players, MyFW 2025 aims to strengthen Malaysia’s leadership in the region and help shape the future of finance across ASEAN.
