CelcomDigi has collaborated with Oyen to roll out a new product called Cyber Insurance Protection, which offers protection against several types of cyber risks, including cyberbullying. With a premium as low as RM6 per month, it is one of the new add-ons that is included under CelcomDigi’s latest Digital Trust Services package, aimed at providing customers with complete end-to-end convergence services.
All customers who have signed up for any of CelcomDigi’s fibre plans can purchase the new Cyber Insurance Protection plan. If you do, you will gain comprehensive protection for the following cyber risks at the price of RM75.07 (inclusive of SST and transaction fee):
Insured events | Plan coverage |
Electronic fund transfer fraud – Reimbursement for financial loss from a cyber event | RM1,500 |
Online retail fraud – Online purchase scam where you did not receive the item(s) that you paid for – No minimum purchase requirement | RM500 |
Identity theft – Reimbursement for identity theft expenses | RM500 |
Cyberbullying – Reimbursement for expenses resulting from cyberbullying directly targeted at you | RM1,500 |
E-commerce purchase protection – Damage, theft, and non-delivery of items purchased | RM500 |
Note that there may be some additional conditions for the coverage of selected cyber risks listed above. For instance, the Cyber Insurance Protection plan also protects your children against identity theft and cyberbullying, but this is limited only to a maximum of four children. Additionally, they must be under the age of 18 and are unmarried, as well as are permanently residing with you.
CelcomDigi further explained that your insurance will be in effect once you’ve made your payment and received the official policy from Oyen via email (within three working days). Your certificate will also clearly state the start and end date of your policy.
If you have any general enquiries regarding this Cyber Insurance Protection plan, you can reach out to Oyen at 016-299 6840. Meanwhile, those who need help following a cyber incident can call 03-9212 1088.
Aside from the Cyber Insurance Protection plan, CelcomDigi’s new Digital Trust Services package also has another protection add-on that you can check out, namely a 24/7 Internet security feature that you can subscribe to for safeguards from threats like ransomware and malware. This second add-on – which offers coverage for up to 10 devices – is powered by award-winning cybersecurity solutions provider, F-Secure.
“CelcomDigi’s Digital Trust Services add-ons resonate with the company’s ongoing commitment to help Malaysians stay safe online,” the company shared in its statement, adding that these new digital protection and security add-ons will also complement its existing convergence offerings. These include a range of entertainment, gaming, and smart home appliances.
