Emirates Launches New Flights From Dubai To Penang Via Singapore

Emirates is launching a new daily flight from Dubai to Penang, with a stop in Singapore. The new service is slated to begin on 9 April 2020, opening a new Emirates route between Penang and Singapore as well as Penang and Dubai.

“Emirates’ flight to Penang will be a linked service with Singapore, allowing passengers to travel easily between the two cities while enjoying the airline’s award-winning service,” said the airline in a press release. The new route will also enable travellers from the northern part of Malaysia to conveniently journey to destinations in Europe, North America, and Middle East via Dubai.

The flights will be operated by an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which offers three cabin classes: eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class, and 304 seats in Economy Class.

Penang will be Emirates’ second destination in Malaysia, after having flown only to Kuala Lumpur since 1996.

“Penang is a major centre for tourism, business travel, as well as medical tourism and the increased levels of inbound travel (are) consistent with the growth in numbers of visitors to the country,” said the chief commercial officer of Emirates, Adnan Kazim.

Emirates’ country manager for Singapore and Brunei, Rashid Al Ardha, further commented that the airline looks forward to strengthening trade links between Singapore, Penang, and Dubai through its offer of high-quality international air service.
