AEON Bank Strengthens Digital Security With Advanced Mobile Shielding Technology
Author Avatar

AEON Bank has introduced a new layer of security to its mobile banking application with the launch of Mobile Security Platform (MSP), an advanced shielding technology designed to protect customer data and prevent unauthorised access. This initiative is part of the bank’s continued commitment to enhancing digital banking security and ensuring a safe user experience.

The MSP system actively monitors potential threats and malware, taking preventive action to maintain the integrity of AEON Bank’s digital banking app. If a device is identified as compromised—whether due to jailbreaking, rooting, library modification, runtime tampering, or any unauthorised application changes that bypass security restrictions—access to the AEON Bank app will be temporarily disabled, and the user will be alerted. This measure is designed to reduce the risk of data breaches and prevent unauthorised access to customer accounts.

Highlighting the importance of this security enhancement, AEON Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, YM Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to safeguarding customer transactions. “Protecting our customers is AEON Bank’s foremost priority as a fully digital bank. The Mobile Security Platform (MSP) shielding technology is crucial in providing a secure and trusted digital banking experience. We want our customers to use our app with confidence and peace of mind.”

The security feature ensures that AEON Bank does not collect, process, or store any personal information from customer devices. Instead, it employs a multi-layered approach to protection. Customers will receive an in-app alert if their device is detected as jailbroken or rooted, with temporary access restrictions to prevent security risks. They can restore access by addressing the detected threats or adjusting their device settings, and for enhanced security, a factory reset is recommended. Once the issue is resolved, customers can relaunch or reinstall the AEON Bank app to resume secure banking services.

While AEON Bank continues to roll out advanced security technology, it also encourages customers to adopt best practices in securing their banking experience. Customers are advised to review app permissions regularly, monitor data usage for unusual spikes, and frequently check account balances and statements for any suspicious activity. Any irregularities should be reported immediately to AEON Bank’s Customer Support.

For more details on its shielding technology, customers are encouraged to visit AEON Bank’s official website.
