AmBank has launched a new rewards campaign for its Mastercard Debit Card, offering 30% cashback on subscription and bill payments, a waiver on its overseas ATM withdrawal fee, and free Plaza Premium Lounge access at five Malaysian airports. The AmBank Mastercard Debit Card Rewards Campaign began on 1 July 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027, though the lounge benefit ends earlier on 7 January 2027.
The campaign is open to all new and existing AmBank Mastercard Debit Cardholders aged 18 and above, as long as the card is linked to an active current or savings account. There is no need to enrol or register, so if you already hold the card, you’re automatically in.
The main reward pays 30% cashback when you set up auto-billing on your debit card with selected merchants. Auto-billing means the merchant charges your card automatically every month, the way most people already pay for Netflix or their phone plan.
Eligible merchants cover four groups, which are streaming services (including Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, YouTube, and Apple), telcos (including CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, Yes, and Unifi), utilities (including Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Air Selangor, and Indah Water Konsortium), and AI subscriptions such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
To qualify, you need to keep a monthly average balance of at least RM500 in your linked account and have at least three eligible auto-billing arrangements charging your card each month. The monthly average balance is your account balance at the end of each day, added up and divided by the number of days in the month.
| Eligible auto-billing arrangements per month | Cashback rate | Cashback cap per month |
| 3 | 30% | RM10 |
| 5 | 30% | RM30 |
If your bills come to RM100 a month across three subscriptions, 30% works out to RM30, but you would only receive RM10 because of the cap. To reach the RM30 cap, you need five eligible auto-billing arrangements, and around RM100 in total eligible bills to make full use of it.
Cashback is credited into your linked account within 30 working days after each month ends, and you will get an SMS or AmOnline notification within a week of the crediting.
The second reward waives AmBank’s RM10 fee for cash withdrawals at overseas ATMs throughout the campaign period. Do note that this only covers AmBank’s own fee. The overseas bank operating the ATM may still charge its own access fee, which is not waived.
The third reward gives you two complimentary Plaza Premium Lounge visits a month at KLIA Terminal 1, KLIA Terminal 2, Penang International Airport, Langkawi International Airport, and Senai International Airport.
To earn the visits, you need a monthly average balance of at least RM10,000 across your eligible AmBank accounts and at least five debit card transactions in the previous month. Meet both conditions in July, for example, and you get two lounge visits to use in August. The visits do not roll over, so any unused access is forfeited at the end of the month.
A few conditions apply at the lounge itself. You must present your debit card and boarding pass at entry, you can only enter once in any 24-hour period, and each visit covers up to three hours with food, drinks, showers, and WiFi included.
Accompanying adults get 25% off walk-in rates, and children aged 3 to 11 get 30% off, paid with your AmBank Mastercard Debit Card. This benefit runs on a shorter window, from 7 July 2026 to 7 January 2027, and is capped at 4,000 redemptions for the whole campaign.
The 30% cashback is capped at RM20,000 in total payouts per month across all customers, awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The terms also state that AmBank reserves the right to select winners at its own discretion. Meeting the RM500 balance and the three-subscription requirement therefore does not guarantee you the cashback every month.
Once the RM20,000 monthly pool is used up, later qualifiers miss out. The lounge benefit works the same way, with its 4,000 redemptions shared among all cardholders for the six-month window.
The rewards here are a bonus on top of bills you were paying anyway. If you already bank with AmBank and pay for a few subscriptions, moving them onto the debit card costs you nothing and could return up to RM360 over the year.
