Bank Islam Lets You Schedule Daily Sedekah Automatically Throughout Ramadan
Author Avatar

If you plan to give sedekah during Ramadan but worry you might forget on busy days, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad has introduced a way to automate it through its BIMB Mobile app.

The feature, called Jom Cari Lailatul Qadar, allows users to schedule sedekah contributions in advance so donations are made automatically either every day throughout Ramadan or during the last 10 nights.

Automate Your Sedekah In Just A Few Steps

Through the BIMB Mobile app, users can select the Sadaqa feature, choose a recipient such as Sadaqa House, a mosque, orphanage, or NGO, and set a payment schedule.

You can choose to donate daily across the entire month of Ramadan or focus on the final 10 nights, a period widely observed as spiritually significant. Once scheduled, the contribution is deducted automatically according to the selected frequency.

For users who already manage most payments digitally, this removes the need to manually transfer funds each night.

What This Means For Your Monthly Budget

Because the sedekah is scheduled in advance, you can plan the total amount upfront and decide how it fits into your monthly cash flow.

Instead of making ad hoc transfers whenever you remember, you set a fixed daily amount. That makes it easier to budget, especially if you are balancing other Ramadan expenses such as food preparation, travel, or festive shopping.

However, automated contributions still reduce your available account balance. Users should ensure sufficient funds remain in their account on scheduled deduction dates to avoid failed transactions.

Flexible Recipients Through Sadaqa House

The BIMB Mobile interface allows users to choose their preferred recipient category. This includes charitable houses, mosques, orphanages, and NGOs available within the app’s Sadaqa ecosystem.

The platform centralises donations, which may appeal to users who prefer managing all transfers within a single banking app rather than across multiple channels.

A Digital Approach To Consistent Giving

Scheduled donations are not new in digital banking, but tying them specifically to Ramadan’s daily or final 10 night structure gives users a more intentional way to organise their contributions.

For those who prefer consistency over last minute giving, automation ensures contributions continue even on days when work or family commitments take priority.

The feature is available via the BIMB Mobile app. As with any scheduled payment, the key consideration is affordability. Decide your daily amount carefully so it supports your giving goals without disrupting your essential expenses throughout the month.
