Bank Islam Pay With Rewards App Shuts Down On 7 August
Author Avatar

Bank Islam is closing its Pay with Rewards (PWR) app [PDF] on 7 August 2026 and moving all of its functions into BIMB Mobile, the bank’s main banking app. If you have been using PWR to pay for purchases with your TruPoints, BIMB Mobile is where you will do that from Friday onwards.

PWR is the part of the TruRewards programme that lets you apply your points against a purchase you have already made at Mastercard merchants, rather than ordering merchandise from a catalogue. Because TruPoints are a Mastercard feature, this only affects Bank Islam Mastercard Credit Card-i holders.

What Changes On 7 August

Everything you did in the PWR app will move to BIMB Mobile. That includes viewing your redemption settings, setting your redemption ranges, and browsing which of your recent transactions you can pay for with points.

Bank Islam has asked cardholders to update BIMB Mobile to the latest version before the switch. If you have not opened BIMB Mobile in a while, or if you have never registered for it, sort that out before Friday.

Which Cards Earn TruPoints

TruPoints are earned on retail spending with your Bank Islam Mastercard Credit Card-i, both locally and overseas. The Mastercard Platinum Credit Card-i earns 2x TruPoints on petrol and contactless spending with a minimum monthly spend of RM2,000, while the Mastercard World Credit Card-i earns 3x on the same categories at a minimum monthly spend of RM4,000.

The Mastercard Gold Credit Card-i earns 1x TruPoint for every RM1 spent, with no bonus categories. You will be able to check your TruRewards balance for all 3 cards through the BIMB Mobile app.

Bank Islam Is Pulling Everything Into One App

The PWR app closure comes a week after Be U, Bank Islam’s digital-only banking app, closed on 31 July 2026 with its customers moved to BIMB Mobile as well, eight days before the PWR app switch.

If you hold any Bank Islam account or card, set up BIMB Mobile now. You can download it free from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery
