Boost Bank Debit Card To Come In July 2024

Malaysia’s latest digital bank, Boost Bank by Axiata and RHB, has revealed that it is set to introduce its physical debit card for individual customers sometime in July 2024. This came following Boost Bank’s official launch today as the first homegrown digital bank in Malaysia.

During the press conference, chief executive officer of Boost Bank, Fozia Amanulla shared that the current public launch revolves primarily around the rollout of deposit products, which includes a savings account and Savings Jars. It also focuses on features like the unique embedded onboarding journey, where you can auto transfer funds from your Boost e-wallet into Boost Bank by linking both the accounts.

The debit card, meanwhile, will be the next product that the bank’s customers can look forward to. Already in the pipeline, it is set to be introduced in collaboration with digital payment service provider Mastercard. It was also revealed that depending on customers’ subsequent feedback, Boost Bank may eventually introduce a virtual debit card to complement the physical card.

As it continues to work on developing the debit card, Boost Bank is currently running a poll where Malaysians are invited to help decide on the final debit card design. Individuals can choose from either a striking red card or a sleek black card, both with the Boost Bank’s logo on it. If you want to have a say, there’s still time to vote for your favourite card design here!

Aside from the debit card, Boost Bank is also set to launch a range of other features and products in the coming months, as well as from 2025 onwards. These include partner-focused services, lending products, and specific services for micro-SMEs.

To celebrate its launch, Boost Bank is currently running a campaign where its customers are allowed to earn a promotional daily interest rate of up to 3.6% p.a. on their deposits. This is on top of other benefits like being able to earn 3x Boost Stars on eligible transactions. If you’re keen to give Boost Bank a try, it is now available for download on Google Play and the App Store.
