Maybank Amex Gold Card Adds 10% Cash Back

Maybank will enhance benefits for the American Express Gold Charge Card from 14 August 2026, adding a new cash back feature and revising rewards rates for overseas spending.

Updated Rewards And Cash Back

As a cardholder, your overseas spending will earn 3X Membership Rewards (MR) points per RM1, up from 2X currently, while local spending remains at 2X. MR points continue to have no expiry.

You’ll also get 10% cash back on selected entertainment and lifestyle spending, both locally and overseas. Eligible spending includes streaming subscriptions such as Netflix, Spotify, Disney+ Hotstar and YouTube Premium, Grab transactions (excluding e-wallet top-ups), and movie tickets at GSC or TGV. 

There is no minimum or maximum spend requirement, although cash back is subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Some Transactions Still Earn Reduced Points

Utilities, education, EzyPay/-i instalment plan and insurance transactions will continue to earn 1X MR points for every RM1 spent, whether locally or overseas. 

Transactions involving government bodies, JomPay, FPX, e-wallet reloads and MyCDD remain ineligible to earn MR points.
