Maybank has rolled out a new online appointment management system for customers, becoming the first Malaysian bank to introduce this facility for a full suite of banking services. Dubbed Maybank EzyQ, the online system allows customers to book appointments prior to their visits to selected branches and Premier Wealth Centres (PWC) across the country.
According to the bank, customers will be able to book appointments between one to ten business days in advance. They must choose a preferred timeslot and specify the branch or PWC that they wish to visit. Additionally, they’ll have to indicate the type of services that they would like to perform, such as account opening services, debit card issuance and replacements, loan and investment advisory, Premier Wealth services, and so on.

Customers who require repayment assistance on their loans/financing following the end of the moratorium can also use the Maybank EzyQ system to schedule appointments with the bank’s financial advisors.
Once your booking has been submitted, you’ll get an immediate confirmation of your appointment, as well as a follow-up email within the same day. The system will also send you a reminder email one day before your appointment date.
Aside from allowing you to book appointments with the bank, the Maybank EzyQ system also has a Manage feature that allows you to manage or update your existing appointments. To do so, you’ll need to key in your reference number from the confirmation email sent to you when you first set your appointments.

In its statement, Maybank said that the new system will help to reduce customer waiting time and improve crowd management in the bank branches. “With the pandemic, we’ve had to change the way our branches operate and have been working on a solution that enables us to prioritise our customers’ safety and provide the level of service they expect of us. This has led to the introduction of Maybank EzyQ, which we hope will bring better experience and convenience for our customers,” said the group chief executive officer (Community Financial Services) of Maybank, Dato’ John Chong.

Maybank further reassured customers that they can still walk in into banks for services without an appointment, although they are encouraged to use the new system to ensure personal safety.
At present, the Maybank EzyQ system is in the midst of the first phase of implementation, which allows customers to make appointments for close to 90 bank branches and PWCs. Maybank aims to roll out the system to its entire branch network by early 2021.
