RHB Bank will revise the cardholder agreement and terms and conditions for a wide range of its cards [PDF] starting 27 January 2026. The update applies to both conventional and Islamic cards, covering credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, and commercial cards.
According to the bank’s announcement dated 5 January 2026, the changes mainly involve updates to customer support details, dispute resolution references, and selected card fees and limits. The revisions are already final and will take effect automatically on the stated date.
The revised terms apply to most RHB card products used by individuals and businesses. These include RHB credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, corporate cards, and student-related cards such as RHB Joy@Uni and MyTVETKPM cards. Islamic card equivalents are also included in the update.
Cardholders do not need to replace their cards or take any action for the updated terms to apply.
One of the main changes across nearly all card agreements is the update to the name and contact details of the Financial Markets Ombudsman Service, also known as FMOS. This body handles complaints and disputes between customers and financial institutions.
Several clauses have also been updated to reflect changes in RHB’s customer service channels, including the renaming of RHB Phone Banking to the RHB Customer Contact Centre. These updates are administrative in nature and do not affect how customers use their cards.
For certain debit cards, RHB has revised sections related to fees and spending limits. This includes updates to daily purchase limits for selected premium debit cards and changes to replacement card fees.
In some cases, clauses referring to card issuance or replacement fees have been removed or adjusted. However, replacement fees may still apply depending on the card type, with updated amounts stated in the revised term.
RHB cardholders do not need to sign a new agreement or confirm acceptance. Continued use of the card after 27 January 2026 means the revised terms and conditions apply automatically.
Customers who want to review the full details can access the updated agreements through RHB’s official website or digital banking platforms before the effective date.
For most cardholders, the update does not change how cards are used for daily spending. There are no new charges introduced for regular credit card use, and no changes to reward structures or payment methods were announced.
The revisions mainly ensure that customer support information remains accurate and that card agreements reflect current regulatory and operational arrangements. Still, cardholders may want to review the updated terms, especially those using debit or corporate cards, to understand any fee or limit adjustments.
