Maybank has alerted the public that several of its branches have been affected by the ongoing flood that is happening in several states within the country. Consequently, these branches will be closed until further notice.

In its announcement via a Facebook post, the bank advised its customers to first check the full list of operating branches on its official website before venturing out to visit a branch. “You may also perform your essential banking via Maybank2u (mobile and app), the all-new MAE app, Maybank2u Biz and Maybank2E from the safety of your home, or visit other Maybank branches and/or self-service terminals which are operating,” said Maybank.

If you’re in need of additional assistance or more clarification from a bank representative, however, the bank said that you can also contact its customer care centre at 1-300-88-6688. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your understanding and patience. For those affected by the floods, please stay safe!” said the bank.

Currently, several states in the country are facing massive floods due to an incessant bout of heavy rain that was brought on by the onset of the winter monsoon since the start of 2021. Affected states include Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Perak, and Johor – with Pahang seeing the worst of it. In Pahang alone, as many as 5,032 families have been forced to evacuate their homes as of this morning.
