Author Avatar

The government is proposing a stamp duty exemption for first homes priced up to RM750,000 under Budget 2027.

First homes priced up to RM500,000 will get a full stamp duty exemption on loan agreements and property transfer documents. For first homes priced up to RM750,000, the first RM500,000 is fully exempt, while the amount above RM500,000 gets a 50% exemption. Both apply to sale and purchase agreements (SPAs) signed from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2030.

Stamp Duty Exemption For Abandoned Projects

To get rid of abandoned housing projects by 2030, loan agreements and property transfer documents signed between original buyers and the contractors or developers who take over these projects will be fully exempt from stamp duty. This applies from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2030.

RM20 Billion In Housing Financing Guarantees

Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan (SJKP) will provide up to RM20 billion in guarantees for home loans. These are expected to help 80,000 first-time homebuyers, especially self-employed people without a fixed income.

New Housing Projects

Bandar MADANI Bukit Jalil will be developed as a residential area with facilities including a vertical school. Phase 1 registration opens this Monday (12 October).

Nearly RM1 billion has been allocated for projects such as Rumah Mesra Rakyat and Program Residensi Rakyat. Four new housing projects will be built in Kulai (Johor), Nilai (Negeri Sembilan), Paya Rumput (Melaka) and Lembah Pertang (Terengganu).
