Bank Rakyat has launched a new credit card that is targeted exclusively at Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel, called the Bank Rakyat PDRM Credit Card-i. Featuring a special card face that is designed to reflect the exclusivity, it offers perks such as a special cash withdrawal fee at automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide and the ability to earn Rakyat Rewards (rewards points) via your spending.

As you can see in the visual above, the new Bank Rakyat PDRM Credit Card-i is a vertical card, with Bank Rakyat’s and PDRM’s logo printed prominently on the top half of the card. Depending on their seniority and ranks, PDRM officers will receive either the Gold version – which has a navy blue background that reflects the colour of PDRM’s uniform – or the Platinum version, which is black in colour:

In terms of benefits, cardholders will be able to enjoy a special cash withdrawal fee of 1.5% or minimum RM15 (whichever is higher) for their withdrawals at ATMs across the country or at Bank Rakyat branches (the fee is usually 3% or RM20). You’ll also be entitled to complimentary group family takaful coverage, which includes guaranteed repayment of the outstanding amount that you have accrued through your card. This is on top of the khairat kematian (death compassionate assistance) of RM1,000 that is also provided.

Additionally, as Bank Rakyat’s cardholder, you’ll be automatically enrolled for Bank Rakyat’s customer loyalty programme, where you can earn Rakyat Rewards points at the rate of 1 point for every RM10 spent (or you can use it to make selected reward redemptions). These Rakyat Rewards can subsequently be converted to cash at the rate of 10 Rakyat Rewards for RM0.10. There is also the Rakyat Rebate that you can tap into, where you’ll receive rebates of up to 3% based on certain conditions, to offset against your outstanding balance.

Other extra perks that are available to you as well include the 0% instalment plans that you can apply for when you spend RM1,000 and above on eligible retail purchases, as well as the 0% mark-up rate for overseas transactions. Furthermore, you’ll be automatically entitled for Bank Rakyat’s ongoing 8%.GOV.MY balance transfer campaign, where you can enjoy an annual profit rate of as low as 8% p.a..

Finally, the Bank Rakyat PDRM Credit Card-i is free for life, and is open for application to PDRM personnel (21 years old and above) with an annual income of RM24,000.
