CIMB credit cardholders who have yet to try Apple Pay can now earn up to RM118 in cashback by making the switch. From 21 July to 14 September 2026, CIMB and CIMB Islamic are rewarding cardholders who add an eligible credit card to Apple Pay for the first time and spend with it, with RM68 on offer for Mastercard credit cards and RM50 for Visa credit cards.
The campaign is open to most CIMB Mastercard and Visa credit cards, including their Islamic (-i) versions. A handful of cards are excluded, namely the PETRONAS Visa Infinite-i, PETRONAS Visa Platinum-i, CIMB Platinum Business, CIMB Rakan Kongsi, and CIMB Fuel Tanker cards.
To qualify, you must first add your eligible CIMB credit card to Apple Pay for the first time, then make five Apple Pay transactions of at least RM50 each. The campaign runs across two campaign months, and all five transactions must fall within the same one as your card activation. The first campaign month runs from 21 July to 17 August 2026, and the second from 18 August to 14 September 2026.
Local, overseas, and online purchases all count, so everyday spending like groceries or online shopping can go towards the five transactions. Do note that Mastercard and Visa spending are counted separately. All five transactions must come from the same card type, so a mix of three Mastercard and two Visa transactions will not qualify. If you complete five transactions on a Mastercard and another five on a Visa, you earn both rewards for the full RM118 (RM68 plus RM50).
Some transactions are excluded from the count. These include gambling and other quasi-cash transactions, monthly instalments, balance transfers, annual fees and other charges, refunded or disputed purchases, and any transaction made in a European Union or European Economic Community country.
The cashback pool is limited to 2,400 Mastercard units and 1,740 Visa units per campaign month, so completing your five transactions early improves your chances. Across the full campaign, that works out to RM326,400 for Mastercard cardholders and RM174,000 for Visa cardholders.
CIMB will track your transactions automatically, so there is no registration or receipt submission involved. If you qualify, you will receive an SMS notification, and the cashback will be credited to your card account within 16 weeks of the campaign ending. If it does not appear by then, you have eight weeks to raise it with CIMB before the cashback is considered credited.
Your card must also stay in your Apple Wallet until the fulfilment period ends. Removing it at any point before then, even after you have completed all five transactions, will disqualify you from the cashback. Your card account also needs to remain active and in good standing, so keep up with your repayments in the meantime.
If you have not set up Apple Pay before, our Apple Pay guide covers how to add your card and where you can use it. With Apple’s Tap to Pay feature now live in Malaysia, even smaller merchants without card terminals can accept your iPhone taps.
Full terms and conditions are available on CIMB’s campaign page.
