BSN Launches G-Card Visa Credit Card, Available Exclusively For Civil Servants

Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has rolled out a credit card specifically for Malaysian civil servants, the G-Card Visa credit card (G-Card).

The highlight of the G-Card Visa is its low interest charges of 8.88% p.a., which is one of the lowest finance charge rates in the market. Previously, this rate of 8.88% per annum was only available to teachers who owned a BSN 1 TeachersCard MasterCard.

Other benefits of the card include zero annual fees for life, and 2x Happy Rewards Points for every RM1 spent overseas; for local spend the card offers 1 Happy Rewards Point for every RM1 spent. The G-Card is also applicable to BSN’s Balance Transfer Programme, which offers rates from as low as 0.3% per month.

To apply for the BSN G-Card Visa credit card, the principal cardholder must be an eligible government employee working under a Ministry, Department, statutory body, or agency. Applicants must also be at least 21 years of age and earn a minimum salary of RM2,000 per month.

The G-Card is a product of BSN’s collaboration with the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK).
