Citibank is currently running its 2022 Utility Spend and Get campaign to offer selected credit cardholders 5% cashback when they pay for their utilities and other specified services using their credit cards. Already ongoing, the campaign is set to run until 31 October 2022.
By invitation only, this campaign will allow you to earn 5% cashback when you pay or schedule new recurring payments for the following qualifying spend categories:
Spend category | Service provider |
Utilities (such as electricity, water, and gas) | Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Air Selangor, Gas Malaysia, Indah Water Konsortium, and more |
Telco and internet | Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile, Unifi, and more |
Entertainment subscriptions | Astro, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, and more |
Do be aware that JomPay transactions, existing monthly recurring or auto-billing payments, and instalments paid under Citibank Flexi Payment Plan or Citibank Easy Payment Plan are not accepted for this campaign.
As always, the cashback rewards will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis, with each cardholder eligible to earn a maximum of RM100 cashback per campaign month. Note that Citi has allocated a total of RM90,000 for the entire campaign, with RM30,000 earmarked for each campaign month:
Campaign month | Campaign period |
1 | 8 August 2022 – 31 August 2022 |
2 | 1 September 2022 – 30 September 2022 |
3 | 1 October 2022 – 31 October 2022 |
If you manage to win any cashback rewards, they will be credited into your most active card account (if you have more than one Citi credit card) within eight weeks after the end of the campaign. This will also be reflected in your credit card statement.
Finally, cardholders who are selected for this promotion may also participate in other Citi credit card campaigns, where they may be offered similar rewards. However, if the campaigns overlap with this particular campaign, then you will only be entitled to receive the rewards from only one of the campaigns.
