Apple is set to open the doors to its very first official store in Malaysia on 22 June 2024, at The Exchange TRX.
Keeping to its values of simplicity and minimalism, the announcement on the tech giant’s website is equally brief. Aside from noting that it will be opening at 10am, along with the address of The Exchange TRX, the page simply noted that “[w]e are getting ready to open our first Apple Store in Malaysia. We can’t wait to see you. Jom!”
There is also an exclusive treat provided for Apple enthusiasts on the page, ahead of the launch: a wallpaper that you can use to “elevate your display” while you wait for 22 June. It features either the word “Jom” or the Apple logo (depending on your device), designed as an illuminated, layered papercut art. It also likely drew inspiration from the design of the roof of the new store.
The Apple store at The Exchange TRX itself, meanwhile, has been in development for several years, and was originally scheduled to open in February. However, it encountered delays and had to be postponed. Outside of Malaysia, Apple already has some stores in surrounding countries, including Thailand, Singapore, and India.
