If you sell on TikTok Shop, you could pay more for shipping from 7 September 2026. A 6% Service Tax (SST) will be added to applicable shipping fees.
The SST takes effect on 1 September, but TikTok Shop will cover it for sellers from 1 to 6 September.
TikTok Shop said it has not increased its Seller Shipping Fee. Instead, the 6% SST will be added to the Actual Shipping Fee.
For example, an Actual Shipping Fee of RM3 becomes RM3.18 after SST.
If you receive a RM3 platform shipping discount and there is no customer shipping contribution, your Seller Shipping Fee would be RM0.18. Without SST, it would be RM0.
TikTok Shop will cover the SST for orders created between 1 and 6 September. From 7 September, you’ll pay the tax yourself.
The tax is based on when the order is created, not when it is delivered. An order created by 31 August will not be affected even if it arrives in September.
The SST applies to applicable logistics services for the delivery, distribution and transportation of goods, documents and parcels through TikTok Shop.
It can also apply to Forward Shipping Fee and Return Shipping Fee for unsuccessful orders.
From 1 September, the 6% SST will be shown in your Seller Settlement Breakdown for relevant shipping charges.
TikTok Shop is also changing its Malaysia logistics entity from Tokgistics Pte. Ltd. to TikTok Shop (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. from 1 September.
If you’re shopping on TikTok Shop, this update does not add a separate 6% SST charge to your purchase at checkout.
The SST applies to the seller’s applicable shipping costs. TikTok Shop has not said that buyers will be charged a separate 6% SST under this change.
