Author Avatar

Affin Bank and Affin Islamic Bank are offering the latest iPhone 17 models to customers who open a special savings account and lock in deposits for 12 months.

The Smartphones for Smart Savers Campaign 1.0 runs from 12 December 2025 to 28 February 2026, or until all smartphones have been claimed, whichever comes first. Both new and existing customers can participate.

Deposit Requirements For Four iPhone Models

Customers can choose from four tiers based on their deposit amount:

Tier Deposit Placement Amount (Earmark Amount)Complimentary Smartphones (“Reward(s)”)
Tier 1RM135,000iPhone 17 (256GB) worth RM3,999
Tier 2RM200,000iPhone 17 Air (512GB) worth RM5,999
Tier 3RM220,000iPhone 17 Pro (512GB) worth RM6,499
Tier 4RM235,000iPhone 17 Pro Max (512GB) worth RM6,999

All deposits must be made in one lump sum using fresh funds only. Money cannot be transferred from existing Affin Bank or Affin Islamic Bank accounts, and funds from the bank’s own cheques, cashier’s orders, demand drafts, or loan drawdowns do not qualify.

Customers need to open either a Smart SA Promo savings account or a SMART SA-i PROMO account (based on Shariah principles of Tawarruq/Commodity Murabahah). New-to-bank customers will also need to open a regular current or savings account where their funds will be transferred after the 12-month period ends.

12-Month Lock-In Period

Deposits are earmarked in the campaign account for 12 months, during which customers cannot withdraw the money. The account earns 0.05% per annum in interest or profit.

Customers can make multiple deposits in separate campaign accounts to receive more than one smartphone during the campaign period. If customers unlock the deposit before the 12-month maturity date after receiving their device, the bank will deduct the actual cost of the smartphone from their principal amount.

After the 12-month period ends, the campaign account will close automatically and funds will be transferred to the customer’s existing current or savings account with Affin Bank or Affin Islamic Bank.

Smartphone Delivery And Warranty

Smartphones can be collected at either Machines Malaysia retail stores or any Affin Bank branch. Expected delivery is within two months from the date the savings account is opened.

For customers with Islamic accounts, the bank will provide an amount equivalent to the smartphone’s price and purchase the device on the customer’s behalf. Each iPhone comes with a one-year Apple Limited Warranty on labour and parts from the date of receipt.

Smartphones cannot be exchanged for cash or substituted for other colours, storage capacities, or models. Campaign accounts are protected by Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) for up to RM250,000 per depositor.
