Insurer Allianz Life has launched HealthCover Prime, a critical illness plan that pays out up to 600% of the insured amount through multiple claims. The plan is designed to support policyholders financially throughout recovery, not only at the point of diagnosis.

Multiple Claims And Recurrence Cover

HealthCover Prime’s Multi-Pay Benefit means a payout for one critical illness doesn’t end your coverage. You can still claim again later, whether that’s a different critical illness altogether or another occurrence within the same illness category.

Its Recurrence Benefit works differently, covering only advanced-stage cancer, heart attack or stroke that returns after you’ve already received a payout for that same illness.

Added Cover For Specific Cancers

The plan’s Gender Specific Cancer Benefit provides an additional payout for advanced-stage breast and prostate cancer. Its Catch All Booster Benefit goes further, covering eligible intensive care unit admissions and hospitalisations due to surgery or infection, even when no critical illness claim has been made.

Unlike medical insurance, which covers hospitalisation and treatment costs, critical illness protection is designed to address income loss and ongoing financial commitments during a prolonged recovery.

Allianz Life said the plan responds to the financial preparedness challenges faced by Malaysians. Citing Bank Negara Malaysia’s Financial Capability and Inclusion Demand Side Survey 2024, the insurer noted that only 37% of Malaysians could cover their living expenses for more than three months if their income was interrupted.

Launch Offer Until 31 August

HealthCover Prime is available in multiple plan tiers, with higher tiers offering more benefits by default. If you purchase HealthCover Prime Plan 1 between 10 and 31 August 2026, you’ll receive the Recurrence Benefit and Gender Specific Cancer Benefit at no additional cost, along with a complimentary OMRON blood pressure monitor. 

The campaign is limited to the first 3,000 eligible Plan 1 customers or until the allocation is used up, whichever comes first. HealthCover Prime can be purchased through a licensed Allianz Life Agent or by reaching out to Allianz Life directly.

HealthCover Prime was introduced at the Allianz Health Festival 2026, which more than 500 Malaysians attended.
