CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic Bank have announced the CIMB OCTO App QR Daily Cashback Campaign, offering users a chance to earn cashback on their daily DuitNow QR transactions. The campaign, which features a total prize pool of RM600,000, is now active and will run until 31 December 2025.

To take part in the campaign, eligible customers must use the CIMB OCTO App to make a DuitNow QR payment to any local merchant. Each transaction must be a minimum of RM10 and funded from the user’s CIMB Current or Savings Account/-i. All transactions are tracked based on the date and time recorded in CIMB’s system.

Breakdown of the prizes you can win:

Daily Cashback	RM0.50	Awarded to the first 8,197 eligible participants each day. There is a maximum limit of RM8 in Daily Cashback per person, per month.
Surprise Cashback	RM5.00	Awarded to the 8,000th eligible participant of the day. This prize is limited to a maximum of 2,500 winners each month.
Monthly Cashback	RM50.00	Perform 15 eligible transactions in a month to be shortlisted. The fastest 250 participants to correctly answer an SMS quiz will win. Limited to one win per person throughout the campaign.

While the Daily and Surprise Cashback prizes are awarded based on the timing of your transaction, the Monthly Cashback requires an additional step. Participants who complete the required 15 transactions will be shortlisted to receive a question via SMS. The prize is then awarded to the first 250 people who provide the correct answer, making it a test of both frequency and speed. 

Eligibility and Prize Fulfilment

The campaign is open to all new and existing individual CIMB OCTO App users who hold an active CIMB Current or Savings Account/-i. However, individuals under the age of 18, those who have been declared bankrupt, and business or corporate account holders are not eligible to participate.

Winners of the Daily and Surprise Cashback will have their prizes credited to their accounts by the end of the day following the transaction, although in some cases it may take up to two weeks. Monthly Cashback winners will receive their prize within twelve weeks after the campaign ends. Winners will be notified through various channels, including SMS, email, or a push notification from the app. To receive any prize, a winner’s account must be active and in good standing at the time of fulfilment.
