CIMB Offers Discounted Wasiat Services From RM399 In 2026 Campaign
Author Avatar

CIMB has launched an Islamic legacy planning campaign offering discounted wasiat services starting from RM399 for eligible Muslim customers in Malaysia.

The CIMB Wasiat Launch Islamic Legacy Planning Bundle Campaign runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 and is organised by CIMB Bank Berhad, CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, as-Salihin Trustee Berhad, and Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad.

What Is A Wasiat?

A wasiat is an Islamic will that allows a Muslim individual to state how their assets should be managed and distributed after death, in accordance with Islamic principles.

Through a wasiat, a person may appoint a trustee or executor, name beneficiaries, and provide instructions for matters such as guardianship of children and settlement of debts. A wasiat helps ensure that estate administration is carried out smoothly and reduces the risk of disputes or delays among heirs.

In Malaysia, a wasiat works alongside faraid, which is the Islamic law governing inheritance. A wasiat does not replace faraid but provides guidance and structure for estate management within the Islamic legal framework.

Promotional Pricing Available During The Campaign

Under the campaign, customers who take up wasiat services only can obtain the Express Wasiat at RM399, while the Comprehensive Wasiat is priced at RM1,299.

These rates are lower than the usual recommended retail prices of RM500 for Express Wasiat and RM1,600 for Comprehensive Wasiat. Preferred customers, CIMB@Work members, and CIMB staff may qualify for lower promotional rates.

Additional discounts are available for customers who bundle a wasiat service with selected family takaful products from Sun Life Malaysia, subject to meeting the minimum first-year annualised contribution requirement.

Who Is Eligible For the Wasiat Promotion

The campaign is open to Malaysian customers aged 18 and above who hold a CIMB current or savings account, including Islamic accounts.

Participation is limited to Muslim individuals. Customers who already have an existing wasiat with as-Salihin Trustee Berhad are not eligible. Non-Muslim individuals are excluded from the campaign.

Wasiat Services Provided Through as-Salihin Trustee

Eligible customers may choose between two wasiat services provided by as-Salihin Trustee Berhad.

The Express Wasiat is intended for individuals with simpler estate planning needs, while the Comprehensive Wasiat is designed for those requiring more detailed instructions and legacy planning arrangements. CIMB acts as a distributor for the services, while as-Salihin Trustee is the licensed provider responsible for the wasiat obligations.

Takaful Products That Qualify For Bundled Discounts

The campaign includes selected regular contribution family takaful products issued by Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad.

These include protection, medical, and savings-oriented takaful plans such as Sun Legacy Shield, Sun Enrich Extra-i, Sun Inspirasi, Sun Istismar Extra, Sun Apex-i, Sun Ultimate Coverage-i, Sun MaxiMed-i, Takaful Mulia, and Takaful Suria Plus. Any new regular contribution takaful products introduced during the campaign period may also be included.

What Customers Need To Know Before Signing Up

Each eligible customer is entitled to one wasiat subscription under the campaign. The offer is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

For takaful plans with top-up options, regular or single top-ups are not counted towards the required first-year annualised contribution. Contributions cannot be accumulated across multiple takaful plans to qualify for the promotion.

Customers are required to undergo a suitability assessment before any product recommendation is made and are advised to review all relevant product disclosure documents carefully.

Regulatory And Consumer Protection Details

Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad is regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia under the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013. Takaful certificates issued under the campaign are eligible for protection by the Takaful and Insurance Benefits Protection System administered by Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia, or PIDM.

According to CIMB, it is not the provider or guarantor of the wasiat or takaful products and is not responsible for claims arising from services provided by as-Salihin Trustee or Sun Life Malaysia.

Customers seeking more information may contact CIMB through its official customer service channels or reach out directly to as-Salihin Trustee Berhad and Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad.
