CIMB Bank has announced changes to its Travel Platinum Credit Card benefits, with the removal of its complimentary airport transfer perk taking effect at the end of this month.
What’s Changing For CIMB Travel Platinum Cardholders
Starting 31 December 2025, the Airport Transfer benefit will no longer be available to CIMB Travel Platinum Credit Card holders. This benefit previously offered a complimentary Grab ride worth RM65 to or from any participating airport in Malaysia.
The bank confirmed that all other card benefits will remain unchanged. Cardholders who meet the quarterly spending requirement will continue to enjoy the card’s travel privileges, though the airport transfer component will be removed from the package.
Fourth Quarter Eligibility Still Applies
Cardholders who meet the RM3,000 spending requirement between October and December 2025 will still qualify for one Grab ride worth RM65, in line with the existing terms and conditions. This means eligible cardholders can still claim the benefit for the final quarter of 2025 before the discontinuation takes effect.
The bank calculates spending on a quarterly basis, and the Q4 2025 period runs from 1 October through 31 December 2025.
Updated Terms And Conditions Take Effect Year-End
CIMB will update the CIMB Travel Credit Card Terms and Conditions on 31 December 2025 to reflect the removal of this benefit. The revised terms remove all clauses related to the Airport Transfer benefit, including eligibility criteria, redemption processes, and the list of participating airports.
The updated terms and conditions are available for review on the CIMB website ahead of the effective date.
How The Airport Transfer Benefit Worked
Under the previous arrangement, CIMB Travel Platinum principal cardholders could earn up to two Grab ride promo codes per calendar year, capped at one per qualifying quarter. Cardholders needed to spend at least RM3,000 in retail transactions during each quarter to qualify.
The benefit covered transportation to or from 10 participating airports across Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Penang International Airport, Kuching International Airport, and Kota Kinabalu International Airport, among others.
Once the spending threshold was met, CIMB sent an SMS and email notification within 30 calendar days. Cardholders then had to respond to redeem their promo code, which would be issued within 14 calendar days and remain valid for six months.
What Cardholders Should Know
CIMB has indicated that it plans to introduce new benefits and campaigns in the future. The bank has not disclosed what these upcoming offerings might include or when they will be launched.
Cardholders with questions about their card benefits or the upcoming changes can contact CIMB customer service for clarification.
