KPKT Offers 10% Housing Discount At AREC 2026

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is offering a 10% discount on home purchases during the ASEAN Real Estate Conference (AREC) 2026, running from 29 July to 1 August at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

KPKT said participating developers are offering the discount to help ease buyers’ upfront costs. The discount is limited to Malaysian citizens with a valid MyKad, and targets lower and middle-income households, with priority given to first-time homebuyers.

Financing Help For Self-Employed Buyers

The Housing Credit Guarantee Corporation, or SJKP, guarantees home financing for buyers who may not qualify through conventional income documentation, including the self-employed and gig workers.

Its guarantee limit was increased by RM20 billion under Budget 2026 to help 80,000 more first-time homebuyers access financing. As of 30 June, the scheme had benefited 118,731 homebuyers, with total financing guarantees amounting to RM28.92 billion.

100,000 Visitors Expected Over Four Days

KPKT Minister Nga Kor Ming said AREC 2026 is a one-stop platform where you can explore housing offers, financing options and advisory services.

Besides the property exhibition featuring residential projects from developers, you can seek consultations at the KPKT Pavilion and attend forums by local and international property experts. KPKT said the conference is aiming for RM1.5 billion in property transactions.
