KTM Launches 20% Electric Train Service Discount For Festive Period
Author Avatar

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad has introduced a 20% discount on selected Electric Train Service journeys in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations and the start of Ramadan, offering travellers an opportunity to reduce transport costs during the peak festive period.

The promotion runs from 15 February to 22 February, with ticket purchases available from 14 February, subject to terms and conditions.

Promotion Covers All Electric Train Service Sectors

According to the company, the discount applies across all Electric Train Service travel sectors on selected dates within the promotional period.

Passengers must enter the promo codes ETSANGPOW20 or ONGTRAIN20 when purchasing tickets to enjoy the 20% fare reduction. A total of 5,000 promo codes have been allocated for this campaign, and redemptions are subject to availability.

Tickets Available Via Digital And Station Channels

Tickets can be purchased through the KITS mobile application, the official Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad website, or self-service kiosk machines at selected stations.

Travellers are encouraged to make their bookings early, particularly as festive travel periods typically see higher demand and limited seat availability.

Initiative Aims To Support Affordable And Smoother Travel

Group Chief Executive Officer Azlan Shah Al-Bakri said the promotion reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to providing efficient and people-friendly mobility solutions.

He added that offering a 20% discount during the festive season allows passengers to manage travel expenses more effectively, while encouraging greater use of rail transport, which can help ease highway congestion and provide a smoother, more comfortable, and safer journey.

Further details are available via the official Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad website or by contacting the company’s Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.

This promotion comes amid wider festive travel measures, including the release of additional Electric Train Service tickets and free public transport initiatives announced ahead of the peak travel period.
