As a result of the total lockdown or full movement control order (FMCO) announced by the government from 1-14 June, the inland revenue board (LHDN) has closed the operations of some of its customer-facing services. Similarly, all counter services at the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) will be closed during this period.

LHDN has closed its one-stop counters for tax services and government special assistance counters at its branch offices, satellite offices, revenue service centres, and its Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) offices nationwide. Its branch stamp centres (PSCs) will operate under limited hours, subject to the working days in each state and on an appointment-basis only.

LHDN payment counters in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching will open from 8am to 12 noon for taxation matters. However, only customers with low-risk status are allowed to conduct any transactions at LHDN’s PSCs and payment counters as part of its efforts to break the Covid-19 chain. Customers are advised to check the list of LHDN offices and branches that are temporarily closed in order to avoid any inconveniences.

Meanwhile, other tax services will be conducted online. LHDN’s HASiL Care Line is still in operation, but under limited hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm; the HASiL Live Chat is available from 9am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays.

As for PTPTN, all counter services at PTPTN offices nationwide will be closed until the full lockdown ends on 14 June. Online services at its official portal will continue for loan applications and repayments, the opening of new accounts, or making additional deposits to the National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) accounts.

The submission period of documents for new PTPTN loan applications will also be extended to 28 June, while those who have been approved for the Ujrah exchange and loan restructuring may mail their relevant documents to PTPTN headquarters by 30 June.

PTPTN’s live chat function on its official portal is also available from 9am to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays, while its complaint channel is open at eaduan.ptptn.gov.my. Besides that, you can contact PTPTN through its official social media or call the careline at 03-2193 3000, from Monday to Friday, 9am until5 pm.
