Malaysia Airlines has announced a series of updates to its Enrich loyalty programme, aimed at offering members improved recognition, value, and rewards. The new structure, which includes revised Enrich Points multipliers, updated Elite Points earning rates, and adjusted tier requirements, will take effect on 1 January 2026.
Under the new structure, Enrich Silver, Gold, and Platinum members will earn more Enrich Points for every ringgit spent on Malaysia Airlines and Firefly flights. The updated multipliers are set at 1.8 points for Silver, 2.2 points for Gold, and 2.5 points for Platinum members. Blue-tier members will continue earning at 1.5 points per ringgit spent.
| Membership Tier | Current Points (per RM1) | From 1 Jan 2026 (per RM1) |
| Blue | 1.5 | 1.5 |
| Silver | 1.6 | 1.8 |
| Gold | 2.0 | 2.2 |
| Platinum | 2.2 | 2.5 |
This change means higher rewards for frequent flyers, particularly those in the upper tiers, allowing members to redeem flights and lifestyle experiences more quickly.
The airline is also revising its Elite Points earning structure, which determines tier qualification. Starting from 2026, Elite Points will continue to be calculated based on flight distance and cabin class, but members travelling in Business Class or Business Suite on mid- to long-haul routes will earn more points than before.
| Route Example (One Way) | Cabin Class | Current Elite Points | From 1 Jan 2026 |
| Kuala Lumpur – Tokyo | Business Class | 6 | 10 |
| Kuala Lumpur – Sydney | Business Suite | 10 | 16 |
| Kuala Lumpur – Singapore | Economy Class | 1 | 1 |
For example, a Kuala Lumpur–Tokyo one-way Business Class flight will earn 10 Elite Points in 2026, up from 6 points previously. Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur–Sydney flights in Business Suite will earn 16 Elite Points, compared to 10 points before the update.
These adjustments aim to better reflect travel patterns and spending behaviour among Malaysia Airlines and oneworld partner airline passengers.
The qualification thresholds for Enrich Elite tiers will also be revised beginning with the 2027 membership year. To qualify, members must accumulate 35 points for Silver, 70 for Gold, and 140 for Platinum status.
| Tier | Current Requirement (Until 31 Dec 2025) | From 2027 Membership Year |
| Silver | 30 Elite Points | 35 Elite Points |
| Gold | 60 Elite Points | 70 Elite Points |
| Platinum | 100 Elite Points | 140 Elite Points |
Flights completed by 31 December 2025 will still follow the current criteria of 30, 60, and 100 points respectively. This transition ensures that members qualifying for 2026 will not be affected by the changes until their next renewal cycle.
From 2026 onwards, Silver members will enjoy 10kg of extra baggage allowance and priority baggage handling. The Silver and Platinum Companion cards will be fully digital, accessible through the Malaysia Airlines mobile app.
However, lounge access for Platinum Companions will be limited to the cardholder only, and no longer extended to accompanying guests.
Malaysia Airlines stated that the changes are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance member experience and simplify tier progression while maintaining the exclusivity of higher membership levels.
All existing Enrich Points earned before 2026 will remain valid until their expiry. The updated multipliers will apply only to flights taken on or after 1 January 2026.
Redemption rules remain unchanged, meaning members can continue using Enrich Points for flights, seat upgrades, and lifestyle rewards through the Malaysia Airlines website, mobile app, or ticketing offices.
Members will also have more ways to accumulate Elite Points beyond traditional travel. Elite Points can be earned through Points + Cash bookings, seat upgrades, and Enrich Hotel stays. Cardholders of AmBank Enrich Visa Credit Cards will continue to enjoy a 30% reduction in Elite Points requirements for fast-tracked status.
Starting in 2026, all new and renewed Enrich Silver and Platinum Companion cards will be fully digital, aligning with Malaysia Airlines’ push towards a more seamless and paperless experience. Members seeking assistance can contact the Malaysia Airlines Global Contact Centre or refer to the Enrich Programme Terms and Conditions online for more details.
