Maybank To Transition from FPX to DuitNow Online Banking On 31 March
Author Avatar

Starting from 31 March 2025, Maybank customers will experience a new interface when making online payments, as the bank transitions from the Financial Process Exchange (FPX) to DuitNow Online Banking/Wallets (DOBW).

DOBW is the latest payment service introduced by Payments Network Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (PayNet) to replace FPX. It enables secure transactions by redirecting users to their online banking platform or eWallet application, including Maybank2u.

When checking out or paying with Maybank2u via online banking, customers may encounter one of two interfaces: the current FPX interface or the new DOBW interface. Aside from the differences in the login page, the rest of the payment process will remain the same

To make a payment via DOBW, customers should select ‘DuitNow Online Banking’ as the payment method, choose Maybank2u as their preferred bank, log in to their Maybank2u account, review the transaction details, and approve the transaction via Secure2u on the MAE app. The transaction will then be completed, and users will be redirected to the merchant’s page.

The default limit for DOBW transactions is RM3,000 per day, shared with the FPX transfer limit. This limit can be increased up to RM30,000 per transaction, with a maximum daily limit of RM50,000. However, a 12-hour cooling-off period will apply before the new limit takes effect. During this time, customers can only make payments up to their current limit. Notifications will be sent via push notification or SMS when the period starts and ends.

For more information and step-by-step guides on the new payment interface, customers can visit Maybank’s official website. If further assistance is required, customers may contact Maybank Group Customer Care at 1-300-88-6688 (within Malaysia) or +603-7844 3696 (overseas), or email mgcc@maybank.com.my.
