RHB Announces Shift To JomPAY For Several Billers
Author Avatar

Paying bills is a routine part of adult life, and banks are continuously updating their services to make the process smoother. Recently, RHB announced that several billers have moved to JomPAY for a faster, safer, and more convenient payment experience.

If you are an RHB customer and pay bills to any of the affected organisations, you will need to update your payment method in your RHB Mobile Banking App or RHB Online Banking portal. This change requires you to remove your existing favourite payees for these billers and switch to JomPAY. The deadline for this transition is the end of September 2025.

Which Billers Are Affected?

A number of organisations have now registered with JomPAY, requiring customers to use this new method for payments. To make a payment, you will need the specific JomPAY Biller Code and reference numbers (REF1 and REF2) as detailed in your bill or statement.

Here is the revised list of affected billers and the essential details required for payment.

Please note that for Prudential Assurance (Life), payments should be made directly on their corporate website.

What Do You Need to Do?

To ensure your payments continue without interruption, you need to manually update your payee list. The process involves two main steps:

  1. Remove the old favourite biller: Go to your ‘Manage Favourites’ section in the RHB Mobile Banking App or RHB Online Banking and delete the existing saved payee for the billers listed above.
  2. Make a new payment via JomPAY: Initiate a new payment using the JomPAY option. Enter the Biller Code, REF1, and REF2 as specified. Once the payment is successful, you can save the JomPAY biller as a new favourite for future convenience. For recurring bills, you may also consider setting up a scheduled payment to avoid missing due dates.

Why Is This Update Necessary?

It is important to take action before the deadline. From the end of September 2025, you will no longer be able to use the old payment method for these specific billers. Failing to update your payment method could lead to missed payments, which might result in late payment charges imposed by the biller.

For security reasons, RHB cannot make these changes on your behalf. Customers are required to update their payment methods themselves by following the steps provided. If you encounter any issues, you can also check with your biller for alternative payment methods.

To stay on top of your finances, you can find more information on managing your payments on the official RHB website.
